Priority 1.png

Working together for a safer, cleaner natural and built environment that residents can be proud of

We will do this by:

  • Campaigning and raising awareness of community and environmental issues

  • Holding cross community events to involve residents and engage others to join in

  • Sharing positive ideas and information and encouraging good community spirit

Success will look like:

  • Effective networks and partnerships to develop change for a better neighbourhood

  • Residents joining together to produce positive results on key local issues

  • Empowering children and young people to take responsibility and create change

How can we make an impact within our family?

  • Ensure the whole family appreciates the importance of using the bin for rubbish, and the impact that discarded litter has on the environment.  Start small by taking a bag and wearing gloves out with you as you go for your daily family exercise, a couple of plastic/glass bottles, or some discarded wrappers off the streets will go a long way to making Stanwell a cleaner place to live.

  • One step further is to purchase your own or request a council litter picker from mel.conolly@surreycaretrust.org.uk (Stanwell Representative of the Spelthorne Litter Pickers group) and some green council bags and head out along your local roads.  Green council bin liners can be left by council bins for council pick up.
